LOCATION:
The house is ideally situated in the west end of Chiang Mai's historic old city (founded 1296) on a quiet soi directly behind a 4½ star hotel. It is one block from the scenic moat and an adjacent road which encircles the city, providing easy access to all points in and beyond. The house is only two blocks from "Walking Street," the city's main street and home of the weekly Sunday market, and Wat Phra Singh, the city's most beautiful temple. Additionally, the house is located mid-way between the "Night Bizarre," at the eastern end of the old city, where local vendors sell their goods, and Nimmanhaemin, the west side's chic neighborhood, home to fashionable restaurants and nightclubs, good gyms, and Chiang Mai University. Finally, one the city's largest malls, Kad Suan Kaew, which contains Tops, a western-style grocery store selling imported products, is only a fifteen minute walk away, as are Chiang Mai's two best medical facilities: Chiang Mai Ram Hospital, and Suan Dok Hospital, a teaching hospital that is part of Chiang Mai University--both of which offer English-speaking doctors and excellent care.
THE HOUSE:
The property is secured with a gate. The front porch looks out on a small yard and the tree-covered grounds of the neighboring hotel. The first floor contains a living room, a dining room, a kitchen and a bathroom. The upper floor includes two bedrooms: one serves as a bedroom; the other use as an office and for storage. Thai kitchen, a refrigerator. Next to the house is a covered parking area for motorbikes and bicycles. At the end of the soi, which is a 2-minute walk, there is gated, covered car parking.
A one-year lease is preferred.
